Experience Scotland like never before with our suggested 4-day itinerary.
It takes you to the most beautiful and unique places in the country all whilst being based at the luxurious and comfort of Firthside House.
We can suggest ways to personalise every aspect of your trip, from sightseeing to dining, and provide you with insider tips to make the most out of your time in Scotland.
Day 1
Welcome to Firthside House, your Highland base for the next three nights. On arrival, enjoy a lazy afternoon tea in our beautiful conservatory overlooking the sea and while the chef prepares your first sumptuous three course dinner, the house-manager will assist with any last-minute activities and itinerary arrangements and settle you in to the house.
Stroll the promenade to the beachfront ice-cream shack or explore Nairn’s famous rockpools dotted amongst the sand. We’ll welcome you back with a warming hot toddy by the fire, or enjoy a private tasting of the best whiskies Scotland has to offer.
Day 2
After a hearty Scottish breakfast, the golfers will tee off at Nairn Golf Club, a 5-minute walk from Firthside House and one of Scotland’s finest links courses. Following a late lunch at the club house, return to Firthside in the late afternoon to rest before the evening’s entertainment.
Or,
Take a customised private tour with a local guide. For the military minded and Outlander fans, a visit to the Culloden Battlefield and museum is a must. Nearby, the 14th century Cawdor Castle has been home to over 23 generations of the Cawdor family and boasts one of the best garden and woodland walks in Scotland, perfect for a picnic lunch supplied by the chef.
Explore the pre-historic 4000-year-old burial cairns and standing stones of Clava Cairns and the intriguing and haunted remains of Rait Castle.
Top off the day with a fun-filled evening of Highland Games on the lower lawn at Firthside house. Try your hand at caber tossing, hammer throw and tug ‘o war – kilts optional!
Day 3
Malt Whisky Country! Visit your favourite Speyside Distillery or take a private whisky and chocolate tasting tour with our local guide. Drop into Johnstons of Elgin for the finest in cashmere and merino products and don’t miss Gordon & MacPhail’s world famous malt whisky shop on Elgin’s main street or the stroll around the ruins of Elgin Cathedral, once considered the most beautiful cathedral in Scotland.
Or,
Scotland’s myths and legends have been inspiring poets and writers for centuries. No visit to the north is complete without a visit to Loch Ness. Keep your eyes peeled for Nessie as you explore the famous ruins of Urquhart castle or journey to the Black Isle, only 40 minutes north of Firthside House. Taste the fine organic ales of the Black Isle brewery, amble up the enchanted Fortrose Fairy Glen to its picturesque waterfalls, call in at the famous healing clootie well at Munlochy or marvel at the Rosemarkie Pictish stones at the Groam House museum.
We’ll welcome you back to Firthside House for a gala dinner prepared by your chef and afterwards, dance and laugh your night away with a traditional Scottish Ceilidh.
Day 4
Transfers to Inverness Airport.
Haste ye back!
